Photo Restoration Ordering Information

Local orders (Kelowna and Okanagan):

For those who live in the Okanagan Valley there is an option to bring the photos in person. Please contact us to make arrangements. We will meet with you and supply a quote at that time. We will then process your order, usually within 2-3 business days, and if you use e-mail we will send you a small proof image. You pay when you pick up your order. We accept cheques, cash and online credit card payments through PayPal.

Online Orders:

1. Get a free quote. Send us your photos or scans of photos using sending instructions in the right column of this page. We will contact you with a quote as soon as we can. Please inform us about your delivery preferences and printing options so we can reflect them in the quote.

2. If you accepted our quote and notified us over email, we start processing your order.

3. After we have processed your photo, usually in 2-3 business days, we will send you a small size proof that will look similar to this:

4. You pay when you accept the proof, using one of our payment options

5. Once payment is cleared, we e-mail you the image file to you in high quality JPEG format. The file will be ready for printing. If you own a photo printer, you can print them yourself or use your local printer service.

We can print the photos at the prices specified on our Pricing info page and mail them to you. We also offer the option of getting the file with the restored image on a CD.

Our reputation is important to us. If for whatever reason you are not satisfied with the proofs, tell us. In the unlikely event that we cannot resolve the problem to your satisfaction, just let us know and you won't have to pay anything - no questions asked.

How to send us your photos:

Send by mail or courier:
You can send your photos to us through the post office or courier service. Both Canadian and U.S. post offices have a very good delivery service with ‘track and trace’. Sending the original photo to us will give the best results. We will scan it, at no extra cost, on our professional colour calibrated scanner and we can check the scan against the photo for details if needed.

There will be absolutely no changes to the original photo and it will be returned to you, unharmed and carefully packed, by registered mail or a courier of your choice (you will have to pay the shipping cost).

We understand that not everyone would like to risk sending often irreplaceable photos and you have more options:

Scan It and Email It
If you have access to a scanner, you can scan photos and email image files to contact@digitalperfections.ca. Details and requirements on scanning and file formats are below. You may need to know how to use software that comes with the scanner or you might ask your computer-savvy friends for help.

Get a Scan and send a CD
If none of the above options works for you, then your best choice is to go to your local printer or copy service and ask them to scan the photos for you and burn the image files on a CD (please take our scanning requirements - below - with you). Then you can send the CD to us using regular mail or courier. Please include your contact info so we can get back to you with a quote when the disk arrives.

  • This is really important:
    Turn all enhancements off.

  • In the preview window, select just the photo, selection box touching the edges of the photo.
  • Save the file as a very high quality JPEG. The quality setting may be different in different programs:
          90%,  9 of 10  or  11 of 12.
If your program doesn't allow to chose JPEG quality, please save image in TIFF format.
